PA West Soccer has adopted use of the PA West Soccer background check system as its volunteer certification program for all coaches and assistant coaches. This certification is required by PA West and is related to the terms of its insurance covering volunteers and club activities. There is a $10 fee for certification, which is valid for two years (each school year counts as one year). Fox Chapel Area Youth Soccer will reimburse the $10 fee once every two years.
If you have had a background check in the past or through another organization, please contact your Commissioner (see Who to Contact / Program Coordinators) to find out when your certification expires.
The FCAYS Board of Directors realizes the inconvenience of having such a process. However, if it provides an extra level of protection for our children and helps maintain the insurances provided by PA West, the benefits of having each volunteer go through this process far outweigh the individual inconvenience.
