Try-outs
Try-outs for U11 and older Sunday Division A (Girls) and Division 1 (Boys) Travel teams occurs each spring to assess player abilities and talent depth in order to organize and register competitive teams in the varying levels of play for each age group. Try-outs are exclusively designed to enable organizers to create the best and most effective combination of team rosters for upcoming seasons. Players electing not to try-out will be placed by coaches recommendation and available space AFTER the placement of players who did try-out.

1. TRYOUT DATES: (Tuesday June 2nd – Wednesday June 3rd)
2. LOCATION Middle Road Upper Fields, 2034 Middle Road Glenshaw PA. 15116

3. EVALUATORS: 4 independant evaluators for each session will evalute 1 to 5, 1 being best.
Same evaluators all week, will be paid a fee.
4. PRE-REGISTER: Players must pre-register via email to tryout coordinator, president@fcaysoccer.org
a minimum of 2 weeks prior to first tryout!.
Colored pinnie numbers will be assigned to each player in advance.
We will use the same #'s for each tryout session.
5. COACH SELECTION: Interview process held on April 29th during our private Board Meeting.
Coach Selection Process and Timetable
Commissioner identifies interested Head coaches, & or qualified candidate’s (may not exclude anyone).
Only current U9 head coaches are considered.
Interested coaches fill out coaching application survey by Monday April 27th.
Coaches are invited, but not required to speak for 2-3 min at 4/29 board meeting
to provide further insight and to answer presubmitted board questions.
Current AG, and DOC will make recommendations, if applicable.
Referee coordinators may make comments and offer insight if applicable.
New AGC will contact the candidates with the results by the following day.
Coach Selection is completed before the player tryouts so that players may
be made aware of the coaching selection.
Caveat: The coaching selection is contingent on his/ her daughter
making the selected team. Should his/her child not make the
team, a new coach may be selected unless there is no other candidate.
U10 SUNDAY TRAVEL PLAYER SELECTION

Current Age: U9 Boys & Girls
a. Preseason: Early April, Coaches Indentify the prospective future travel players via 2 methods,
1. previous observations, and 2. a player evaluation form. Once those are complete,
a meeting of the commissioner and all coaches is held to discuss the teams.
If there is not a strong consensus on the player pool, a list of players
will be created to observe during the season. Every effort will be made to identify
emerging and new players as well.
b. Head coaches: Fill out a 10 catagory player evaluation form. Commissioner tabulates the results.
c. Based on the player evalutions, a determination is made whether 1, 2,or even 3 teams can be formed.
If multiple teams are formed, they will be balanced strength teams, to the best of our ability.
c. In season: coaches / commissioner observe players that were identified as possible
travel players or "players to watch" during the preseason meeting.
d. Post Season: - Meet and finalize the teams and make final determination on players to watch.
This can be done via email if there are no unresolved issues.
e. Commissioner: Informs the players, via phone call on the last day of the school year
and gets firm commitments. He then confirms with the coaches which players have accepted.
Coach: is responsible to create player passes, and stickered roster. Commissioner checks them,
and takes them to the state office for finalizing.
f. Select coach may choose his own assistant(s) coach from within the club.

WRAP UP:
Wednesday 9:30-10:30 at a mutually agreed location
(Evaluators, AG Commissioner, Select Coach, Pres, VP)
Finalize evaluations, and give them to the commissioner and the coach.
New commissioner contacts players on/after the last day of school.
Select Coaches are permitted to determine their actual roster size within acceptable club
guidelines of maximum and minimum numbers. Final decision on last 2 tryout players who are close
in the ratings, is decided by the Select coach.
