Introducing FCFC

INTRODUCING FCFC

We are excited to announce that, starting this spring, Fox Chapel Area Youth Soccer (FCAYS) has changed its name to Fox Chapel Football Club (FCFC). We believe that this new identity, along with its updated logo and support designs, now represents the fresh, contemporary identity the club has earned through its history and consistent credibility as a club, and its alignment to the Fox Chapel Area School District.

Fox Chapel Area Youth Soccer (“FCAYS”) and its current logo were formally established in 1984 to introduce the world’s beautiful game to local youth to launch and advance their athletic development, social interaction, and leadership skills in a fun and rewarding way. Soccer is the perfect introduction to sports for young children because its initial simplicity as a kick-and-run game grows more challenging and complex for each individual player as they grow older, gain experience, and play at varying levels of competition inside and outside of our club.

FCAYS, now FCFC, has always been and remains a proactive organization since its inception. Over its history, FCFC partnered with local townships to improve the green space in our district by funding fields and overseeing the construction of the Middle Road Complex concession and bathroom building. It has also invested in playing field improvements at numerous other parks in the district. These investments continue today through turf improvements being conducted at both Middle Road and Laurie Ann West / Boyd fields.

FCFC has historically been and remains an active, contributing member of US Youth Soccer and a leading organization in both PA West Soccer Association and its North District organization. Our youth in-house, traveling, and competition programs have been one of the strongest historical training programs to build player interest and abilities to keep recreation players playing all the way to our club’s high-school-age teams and on successful competition teams at all levels of play. Many players that started their play in FCFC programs have also found success on regional classic teams, in college play at all levels, and in international professional play.

FCFC development and league programs continuously support Dorseyville Middle School and high school teams by aligning our programs to programs offered by the school coaching staffs. This partnership helps create player familiarity, awareness, and readiness to compete at the highest levels of WPIAL soccer play. The recent successes of the school teams demonstrate the work being done at the grass roots level at FCFC.

Finally, and certainly not least important, FCFC has invested heavily in the development of its referee program through early introduction programs for young referees on the U6, U7/8 fields. This experience encourages required formal certification to referee U9 and older play. FCFC currently has one of the deepest pools of available referees servicing both its leagues and the games around the region at both community and Pittsburgh-based regional/national classic team play. This program’s success is founded on the referee leadership at FCFC and the board’s willingness to fund dedicated staffing for training and participation.

It is our belief that the extraordinary history and success of our club, along with its future loaded with talent, commitment, program, and facilities, deserves to be celebrated through a pride-inducing, forward-looking identity. The new logo will appear on all uniforms starting in the Spring 2023 season. Look for our new uniforms and club gear on the website when registering.
